The details

- Please refer to item description for size/colour/shape details

- SLIM LINE girths are leather and produced approx.Ā 2cm narrower in width vs the quilting style. Both are equally excellent products so the choice is really personal preference šŸ˜Š

- All of our stock girths have elastic on the buckles - this is very heavy duty and designed to give when the horse breathes. Webbing is an option for custom order girths . From time to time we may have stock girths with no elastic - this will be mentioned in the item description.

- All girths we sell are produced with platinum level sheepskin - we do not retail the lower graded items.

- The girth contains a base and removable cover. The girth must be used with the sheepskin cover - spares can be ordered as required.

- Buckle covers may be on some stock girths, this will be shown in the image and also mentioned in the description. Custom girths can be ordered with this option.

Which girth do I need for my horse?

Measurements are from buckle to buckle, you will need to allow an extra 1" compared to your normal girth size because of the fleece liner.Ā Ā We have furtherĀ  informationĀ here - CLICK HERE

The anatomical girth

For the horse with a proper girth groove far enough from the elbow of the horse. This girth is cut back somewhat in the front and rear in the elbow area.

The asymmetric girth

For horses with a girthĀ groove somewhat closer to the elbow area or less prominent girth groove, where the girth has a tendency to into a too forward position. The girth is cut back further in front only to allow for extra distance to the elbow. The cut back section must point forward!

Crescent girth
For horses with mostly short backs and wide ribcages and/ or narrow chest. The girths slide forward. The crescent girth shape gives room for the bulk of the rib cage and belly. So the girth does not push forward.
Attention: There is a label with direction indicator. Always place the girth according to the label.

Athletico girth
For horses with an athletic wedge shaped build. The special cut of the girth prevents the girth and saddle
to slide backwards. Attention: There is a label with direction indicator. Always place the girth according to the label.

TheĀ Pony Special Girth

These girths were developed to accommodate ponies with very narrow-standing front legs, small and/or short backed horses with rounded bodies. Length is always speciļ¬ed from buckle end to buckle-end.Ā

Ā

Ā *IMPORTANT*Ā There is a possibility of dye bleeding from dark or bright coloured skin onto light coloured quilt. A slight staining is possible from dark or bright coloured wool onto the hair of gray horses. Fading of the wools surface is also possible. This is due to the composition of the horsesā€™ sweat, which can be different from horse to horse. The same applies to dark and bright dyes on saddle leathers.Ā FOR LIGHT COLOUR HORSES WHITE or PALE COLOURS IS BEST!
